Nice post. We actually are using a "story" backdrop for our "Project Team of the Year" award at my major telecom company. It has worked out really well, each time a team is nominated we take the basics from the nomination and feature that team on a series of well-visited websites. In fact, the tagline for the whole program is "What's your story?". At EarthPM, we will also be featuring storytelling as part of our upcoming new book, Green Project Management, to be published in 2010 by CRC press. In fact, I've just been working on working a real-life story about lean manufacturing, of all things, and the way it was implemented at a local company, and how that in turn pointed out the connection between life cycle and long-term thinking for project managers.
